Seville is the city with the largest green area in Andalusia and the largest number of square meters of green area per inhabitant, that is, there are plenty of options to connect with nature without leaving the city. Here we list some of our favorite green areas so you can enjoy them:
Murillo Gardens
The Murillo Gardens were part of the Royal Alcazar of Seville until they were donated to the city in 1862. In it we will find small gazebos with fountains, different types of trees such as magnolias, orange trees, ficus, and palm trees; and in the middle of the garden, a monument to Columbus and the Catholic Monarchs.
The gardens are named after the Sevillian painter Bartolomé Esteban Murillo, and in 2002 it was declared an Cultural Interest Asset and Historical Heritage of Spain.

Maria Luisa Park
María Luisa Park is the most visited and iconic in the city, being the first urban park in Seville inaugurated in 1914. It was declared a Cultural Interest Asset in the category of Historic Garden in 1983.
Next to the famous Plaza de España, it has 34 hectares and different spaces that combine vegetation and architecture, trails and picnic areas apart from the Royal Pavilion, the Archaeological Museum and the Museum of Popular Arts and Customs, all without leaving the park. Mandatory stop for visitors to Seville.

Prado de San Sebastián Park
This park was the old establishment of the Cattle Fair that would develop into the April Fair, being inaugurated as we know it today in 1997.
It is located next to the María Luisa Park, and it is characterized by the use of ponds, fountains, small waterfalls, and a free space arranged for social and cultural activities in the central area, such as the Nations Festival. that every year takes place in October.

Alamillo Park
This extraordinary green lung has an area of 120 hectares. Without a doubt, it is one of the most important green areas in the city. It has large spaces ideal for all types of outdoor activities, and ialso offers many activities: children’s play areas, a restaurant area, an archaeological site, the possibility of practicing canoeing or kayaking and a lake where you can do nautical activities such as water skiing.
For family outings there are several options: a pneumatic train, a small railway, four-wheeled bicycles, and an exclusive area for dogs, who walk and play freely with their owners.

San Jerónimo Park
Following the Alamillo Park, on the river bank, we find the San Jerónimo Park, with beautiful paths for bicycles and skates and large green spaces for picnics. At the end of the route stands the monument “Birth of a New Man”, popularly known as “The Egg of Columbus”, a 32-meter high bronze statue that is the largest in Spain. The park, together with the Alamillo Park, make up the largest green area in Andalusia.

Miraflores Park
This 90-hectare park is ideal to go with children, as it has a lagoon where you can see a great variety of ducks and fish.
In addition, it has a children’s play area, a skating rink, urban gardens, different soccer, basketball and volleyball courts – ideal for spending a good time with the family.

Guadalquivir Gardens
These gardens of great beauty and layout are located on the Isla de Cartuja and it is the closest park to Sweet Sevilla Suites, 1km away.
Built for the 1992 Universal Exposition, they have different types of gardens depending on the type of vegetation, including the Aquatic Garden, the Landscaped Wall, a river walkway, a pedestrian path and a bicycle lane, with views of the Guadalquivir.
Excellent option to disconnect from the city and connect with nature!

Vega de Triana Park
This 80-hectare park is located 3kms from Sweet Sevilla Suites, in the Triana-Los Remedios District. It has 4 soccer fields (1 of artificial grass and 3 of albero), 7 football fields for seven-players match, 4 concrete sports courts for futsal, changing rooms, stands, irrigation well, exterior fence and night lighting. From here you can also access the Guadalquivir river in its original cause.
